Dracoling
One of the more noticeable descendants of the Redaxx, Dracolings' leathery skin has developed into a hardened scale-like texture. Most Dracolings have also inherited a natural adeptness to magic.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Dracolings possess four limbs, two arms and two legs. They walk upright and have a strong, scale-like leathery skin that provides a natural armor.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Dracolings are omnivorous, requiring a balanced diet full of plant matter and augmented with meat.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
A Dracoling's scales extend even to their head, with smaller scales across much of their face to allow for ease of movement. Some Dracolings possess horns in locations such as the forehead, cheekbones, eye ridges, or neck ridge, although these are recessive and generally rare. Dracolings do not have protruding ears, instead relying on small movable fins near their ear holes to catch sound.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Dracolings are naturally adept at tapping into the magical fields of Fillimet. Once trained they can actively use these skills to enhance their senses.
Dracolings do not have protruding ears, instead relying on small movable fins near their ear holes to catch sound, and their natural magical attunement to enhance it. While this is a disadvantage in normal circumstances it does allow for better hearing underwater and clearer hearing in high volume situations.
Civilization and Culture
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Dracolings talk loudly and use exaggerated body language and hand motions when communicating, minimizing the requirements to use magic to understand each other. They tend to minimize their use of words and sounds if possible, and use facial expressions to great effect.
Common Myths and Legends
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Many Dracolings are reclusive with regards to other races, due to stress in communicating
Quick speech at normal volumes can be overwhelming due to the Dracolings' requirements to magically enhance their own hearing.
Those who do spend time with the other races are found to be friendly, brave, and highly expressive with their body language. They talk little but loudly when utilizing the spoken word, but can speak volumes with a subtle glance.
