Mapvember 2021 Pledge in Estya | World Anvil

Mapvember 2021 Pledge

I pledge to write at least 21 articles over November 2021 for #Mapvember, focused on the variety of Estyans cultures wherever possible. If time allows, I pledge to also include art or maps depicting the subject being described. I also pledge to take 15 minutes each day to review, like, and comment on others' articles.

What world are you working on?

I am planning on working on my primary world of Estya, developing the neglected cultures and traditions of the world, and reflecting that in the buildings and structures named in the prompts.

How much are you hoping to complete?

My aim is to complete all thirty prompts this year, however I would be satisfied with twenty-one because I am also competing in NaNoWriMo at the same time.

When will you write?

I plan to write in the mornings before starting my day, but after working on my NaNo writing project. I hope to start writing around 7am MST and write until lunch time.

Who is your support network?

The awesome WA discord server and the Denver Wrimo discord server will help me through this crazy endeavor to complete Mapvember and NaNo simultaneously.

Where to follow my progress

If you want to say hi, stay up to date on my progress, or just hang on, I'm going to be frequenting discord and will be more active in the World Anvil community. You can find me in the following places:   World Anvil. You can find me haunting the World Anvil discord server as "Ynix", usually with my current project following my name. I'll try to keep it updated with my prompt count as I complete them!
Twitch. While I don't stream often, sometimes you can find me playing games and having fun between bouts of writing - I'm alevicsca on twitch, and will be off for about half of November while I house sit, but I'll keep updating elsewhere!
This Article. I will be updating the prompt tracker in the sidebar as I complete articles, and each week has its own table, with the last two days being a "sprint" mode. After Mapvember, I will dive into WorldEmber with my new goal and a new pledge article, so stay tuned!

Updates

29 November

So, with roughly twenty six hours to go and roughly twenty-six prompts to go, I have made the call to bow out of the Mapvember challenge. It makes me sad to not get the shiny badge and the sense of accomplishment, but unfortunately my work and NaNoWriMo progress has made it impossible for me to catch up. To put it simply: I don't work fast enough in order to make this many prompts in so little time.   Unless I churn out one prompt and hour or more, skip formatting, and neglect sleep for the entire night, setting myself up for WorldEmber failure, I won't be able to catch up, and I'm currently working on convincing myself that it's okay.   I'll probably keep making maps along the Mapvember Prompts, but I will be focusing my efforts on Chardovil this WorldEmber, however if the inspiration struck me for Estya, I will return to my WorldEmber 2021 Pledge page and update it with the article(s) I've worked on.   If you want to follow my NaNo progress and celebrate my recent victory with me, feel free to check me out here.
