An enormous, eight-mile-long wall encloses the city, with four gates leading in, one for each cardinal direction. Each gate is flanked by enormous rectangular towers. The wall itself is a double wall, with the bottom twenty feet built from ashlar stone and another thirty feet of mud-brick wall atop that. The stone retaining wall has towers every sixty feet. The combination of defenses makes it one of the best defended cities in the World.
Geography
Nineveh is located on the great plain just beyond the Badian Steppes, alongside the Tigra River.
