Knosós
A small city located upon the north shore of Atlantis, Knosós is actually the oldest existent settlement upon the island. It is a tributary of the city-state of Atlantis.
The city is defined by the Palace of Elektra in the acropolis, upon the great hill. The palace features a grand amphitheater, heated baths, and a soaring temple dedicated to Zeus. Colorful frescoes decorate the walls, the most impressive of which now displays the victory of Zeus during the Titanomachy.
Below the great hill lies a small lake used exclusively by the aristoi.
Infrastructure
Terracotta aqueducts carry running water from the mountains. An underground sewer carries waste out to sea.
History
No one remembers who founded Knosós. It was there when Atlas claimed the island and named it after himself. Rather than claim the city for himself, he built a new city closer to the World Tree and left Knosós to his brother Menoetius. After Zeus slew Menoetius, he claimed Knosós for himself, though he never ruled it directly. Atlas's daughter Elektra now oversees the city.
