The Iron Accords
After the unification of the tribes of the Rhodanes by King Morrinnir Thrennas into the Kingdom of Valorden, the Iron Accords marked the beginning of a prosperous relationship between the Brookhill Dwarves as well as their suzerain the High Kingdom of the Dwarves and the young Kingdom of Valorden.
After having sent a valuable contingent of warriors to aid in forming Valorden and subjugating the Rhodani clans, the mercenary band now famously known as the Ironguard for this exact endeavour, the Dwarves were granted the territory of Brookhill to govern on their own as a satellite of the High Kingdom of the Dwarves in the lands of Valorden.
The Iron Accords state that Brookhill's dwarven residents remain citizens of the High Kingdom of the Dwarves and are exempt from taxes and levies in the Kingdom of Valorden. All Brookhill Dwarves are legally allowed to hold lands in Brookhill under Valordan jurisdiction and are not obligated to participate in Valordan military conflicts.
The Iron Accords further include some minor regulations about trade, upkeep of roads and lands, and transfer and documentation of dwarves wishing to become subjects of the King of Valorden.
More than anything, the accords are a reflection of the exceptionally good relations between the Valordan crown and the dwarven crown. The agreement has never been contested or disputed since it was being drafted all those years ago.
