Ronneval

The Ronneval is a valley in the southwest of Valorden that stretches out from the peak of where the The Morcannaid Massif meets the Great Belt and descends through the massif towards the heart of Valorden. The valley lies well within the massif is shielded on both sides by mountain ranges and shut off from the southern and northern plains. These ranges are home some some of the highest peaks in Echora.   Often when speaking about the Ronneval a distinction between the Upper Ronneval and the Lower Ronneval is made, with the lower valley being more densly populated and having more towns as opposed to the upper valley that is largely made up of harsh climates and wilderness.   In terms of elevation, the Ronneval marks the highest part of Valorden. The upper valley features exremely rugged and mountainous topography on both sides of the wide glacial plains that make up the central valley. The Ronneval also possess many offshoot side valleys.   The river that originates from the glaciers in the Morcannaid Massif and flows through the valley ends in a great lake, that simultaneously marks the end of the valley.   The Ronneval is mostly populated by humans and Dwarves of Dol Cadarn as well as some Rhodani tribes that do not recognize the Kingdom of Valorden. These tribes populate the upper valley and side valleys with their wilder territories and cause much trouble for the Kingdom of Valorden as well as the dwarves of Dol Cadarn with frequent raids.

Climate

The Morcannaid Massif massively influences the valleys climate and gives it a dry climate. The upper regions are subjects to lots of snowfall during large portions of the year, yet the rate of rainfall in the central valley is lower than average. These climate provides good grounds for many plants that are absent from the rest of Valorden and the lower valley lends itself well to cultivate vineyards. These are only some reason the nation is reluctant to gove the Ronneval over to the Rhodanes.
