Schro Character in Districts of Calamity | World Anvil

Schro

Schro

Born to a reclusive clan of Acadian Reclaimers, Schro was introduced to the violence of this world at an early age. Trained in hunting and survival before he even learned to talk.   The small clan-like structure of the family unit led to a rather odd practice of only referring to other members of the clan by descriptors. Hunter, Smith, Sewer, Forager, Trapper, etc. The only consistent "Name" was given to the Diplomat or Speaker of the clan when representing the clan's interests when dealing with outsiders.   Some time ago the clan negotiated for a small section of woodland to be set aside as hunting grounds for the clan. In exchange, the Clan ensured that no undead survived passing through their territory. They were also hired to hunt giant fauna that threatened local settlements. They traded megafauna carcasses for supplies and favors from various settlements.   When he was a teenager external forces removed all of Schro's younger family members from the clan hunting grounds while he was off gathering supplies while the adults hunted. In response the clan did the one thing they knew usually worked to get them what they wanted or needed. They went on a hunt for one of the largest and most dangerous species of megafauna. Intending to return to town with its corpse as both a bargaining chip, and a Threat.   Unfortunately, no matter how long Schro waited, the adults never returned. Eventually realizing that he was the last member of his clan that he knows for certain is still alive, He dons the Name of the clan's speaker, and goes in search of his lost siblings.   On his journey, he met some members of the Cult of the Happy Grave and began to donate memories of beautiful slices of nature.
