Still, some form of structure was maintained as all eyes were turned to the Daedalus Project, the massive fleet of spaceships being built by the G20’s collaborative efforts, with the mission to evacuate up to 3 billion people in order to colonize Mars.

An elaborate system was put in place to select and prepare almost a third of Earth’s population for the journey. Selection lists were kept secret, waiting until the very last minute to be made public in order to avoid further turmoil. The Daedalus Project seemed to be the only thing keeping the world together.
