From a Story standpoint, Dark Shards leans heavily on the Director to have a sense of what he wants and needs, and to act more as a springboard for creativity than a mechanism for imitation. These alternate climes, the seven-fold Otherwords, are made available for exploration from the Seven Ziggurats, each a Nexus to an alternate plane, identified by the the type of stones that adorn them. Though they meander randomly each iteration, they are constant in their appearance and the plane to which they are connected. For this reason, the recommendations are broad and open, rather than narrow and closed to interpretation. They are just as available as the other environs, and so all planes are included in the Wheel of climes, rotisserie-style files, each connected in line with the others, but each is also accessible from this list.

Aethyr: World of the Invisible. Linked to the Opal Ziggurat. In this Iteration, it is located at the epicenter of the storm, Psychlone, set to become active when the THIRD PROPHECY is fulfilled, near the border between Draconia and Elwyndale
Asomatum: Land of Dreams, Linked to the Sapphire Ziggurat. Currently situated in the Blackwater southwest of the Kells, and will be in the eye of Typhun, set to become active when the SIXTH PROPHECY is fulfilled.
Crossroads: Pathways of the Hereafter, linked to the Topaz Ziggurat. This is to manifest when the FIRST PROPHECY is fulfilled, and is located at the center of Cascade, in the heart of Moriah.
Everdark: Realms that exist Beneath, linked to the Obsidian Ziggurat, in the Blackwater north of Corrum, and will be the at the core of the storm called Skraype, which will manifest when the FIFTH PROPHECY is fulfilled.
Fae Rie: Kingdoms of the Mystical, linked to the Emerald Ziggurat. In the middle of Cryopathia, at the heart of the storm known as Manshoon. THis will be activated when the SECOND PROPHECY is fulfilled.
Oblivion: Land of the Forgotten, linked to the Ruby Ziggurat, located off the coast of the Wylderlands. Its activation will follow the FOURTH PROPHECY, and is the source of the storm called Maelstrom.
Penumbra: Domain of Shadows, linked to the Basalt Ziggurat. It marks the center of the final storm, Hyrcain, located in the Blackwaters east of Bylon. and the SEVENTH PROPHECY will herald its activation.
