Damalor is a supercontinent consisting of twelve distinct geographical areas: Anglos, Draeyolend, Eukonara, Finnera, Hunkaar, Jaderari, Maldesia, Mazakh, Nippon, Norlend, Orcland, Regatus and Scrym.
The world is populated mostly by humans. Human realms overwhelm the landscapes, interrupted by the occasional humanoid realm. The most populous non-human races are elves, dwarves and orcs, though there are populations of many other races, either inhabiting their own realms or coexisting in human realms.
Humans have only become the leading population in the recent past, as Damalor was ruled in the past by dragons during a roughly ten thousand year period referred to in the modern day as the "Era of Darkness," or the "Dark Ages." This era of slavery is still recalled by the longer-lived races of Damalor, some of whom experienced slavery themselves.
Before the dragons ruled the land, the elves led a sprawling empire for thousands of years. Known to the Elves as the "High Ages," the twelve thousand year period saw a successful, wealthy empire that spanned the continent. Many elves have fond ancestor-memories of these days of peace, yearning for a day when their race reigned over the known world.
