Session 3: Investigating the Lookout Tower
General Summary
After surviving an attack by a small group of goblins with a hobgoblin leader, the party returned to camp with their prize of half an elk that they needed to take care of before returning to the forest to continue their search. Upon returning to their camp, they met Solana Engwyn, another member of the Knights of Yggdrasil. She was sent by Faelyn Lightfoot to assist the two in their mission. With the elk quickly taken care of, the trio moved back into the forest to continue their search.
The trio fought all manner of creatures as they attempted to track the trail of the two goblins that had run away from their initial encounter. From a pack of wolves to squabbling goblins, the afternoon passed quickly as they fought their way through the forest around the Northern Lookout Tower, soon losing the trail as the day turned dark and their wounds became too much.
As the party rested for the night, the faint scratching of claws on wood drew attention as the shadows around their camp began shifting and swirling. In their weakened state, the party faced the shadows that had been slowly carving ruts into the wood of the tower. With that, one part of the disturbance at the tower had been dispatched.
