Druidic

Written by Shiftrex

This is a language that few can comprehend, the words and the script that it uses are mystical in a way that baffles Wizards and cannot be divined by Clerics. Speakers of this language are exclusively Druids, those that would be lucky to even recognize the script as anything but natural markings of the world. It has often been said that this language sounds like a song, or the mingled sounds of birds, or the wind crashing softly on the sandy shores of the coast. However, those that hear it find themselves having a hard time describing, replicating, or recording the sounds that they have heard even through magical means.    The script itself can resemble scratches in the dirt from where an animal passed, a small pile of dropped stones, or scorched markings from a campfire. A simple sign can convey meaning that sentences cannot and those without the Druidic heritage would be hard-pressed to recognize it as anything but a natural happenstance. Druids are able to see these signs immediately and can pick out the "script" of their special language in the same way that anyone else would recognize a letter or a sentence on a blank page of parchment. To them, there can be no mistake which makes it a perfect language for secrets, communication, and prophecies that should be hidden from the rest of the world.   Being a Druid is not a profession but rather a way of life and understanding that allows them to connect to the natural world in ways that cannot be fully understood by fact or faith alone but only through experience and a union with nature. The people that use this language can be found on every continent and nearly every part of the world where nature is unshackled and allowed to grow freely but they find a specific concentration in forested areas, mountains, and remote areas that civilization has not touched.
