Term: Spell Attack

Sometimes, an Ability will ask you to use your Spellcasting or Maneuver attribute for an attack. This is called a Spell Attack, and will be denoted if it is melee or ranged in the name (Ranged Spell Attack vs Melee Spell Attack).

Spell Attacks do not need an attack to be generated for them, as with the Attack Action | ◈◈. Additionally, Spell Attacks can be made with normal attack modifiers available to the character (Strength for melee spells and thrown weapons spell attacks, Dexterity for Ranged and Thrown spell attacks, Intelligence with Keen and spell attacks that rely on an appropriate weapon, etc.)
