Term: Critical Failure
Rolling -10 below a DC, or rolling a natural 1 on a 1d20 , is considered a Critical Failure.
Some effects within actions, abilities, and features have rules for when a creature Critically Fails a roll, usually increasing the severity of the effect and/or adding on a new dimension to such. Two examples of such are theKnave's Mockery maneuver, or the Vicious Mockery spell.
While Attacks can Critically Fail, nothing happens outside of a miss, rules as written.
