Term: Difficulty Class / DC

A number a roll has to beat, similar to Armor Class for Attacks. Difficulty Class is usually assigned to, and used for, Skill Checks, Abilities and Features, and other common challenges that do not revolve exclusively around combat.  

A GM will set the DC or follow a guide, more oft than not, depending on the actual difficulty of the challenge faced. That being said, a general rule of thumb will be using the table below, which are Set DCs, which compares CHASE's (and technically Pathfinder 2E's) DC vs more traditional TTRPGs, especially 5E compatible ones.   The table below uses Average DC by Level, which is more of a way of scaling or verifying numbers for certain things, in case the prior table isn't what the situation calls for.
