Term: Death Save

A player character must make a Death Saving Throw (also called a Death Save) if they start their turn with 0 Hit Points. If they fail 4 saving throws and/or have 4 Wounds before they gain theDead condition. If that happens, they die.   If a player rolls a Critical Success on the save, they gain 1 HP and become conscious again. If they Critically Fail, they get 2 death saving throws.
