Lore: Mathematics
Mathematics is the study of math, which shouldn't come as a surprise. Math itself is the study of numbers and being a NERD, but more focused mathematics each has a name for the subject and/or problem that is trying to be tackled (Arithmetic, Algebra, Simple Geometry, Sacred Geometry, etc). Math has its uses everywhere, but moreso its usage as a byproduct about how it helps a person think and solve problems. Yes, that is why you took it in school.
