Planar Cosmology

Following the The Planar Blight, as some called it, the planes and relative locations were greatly altered, in 1134. This led to many forms of teleportation and conjuration magic no longer working. Even innate forms had difficulty or even ceased working.

Previous Cosmology

Prior to its change, the standard belief among academics was one of upper and lower planes with the elemental planes being closer, as well as the feywild and shadowfell.

New Magic

With the creation of new tuning forks that work between two specific planes, the cosmology is starting to be mapped out again. This has shown that there are points within the planes where the planar fabric is coterminous between two different planes. These coterminous zones are near each other with in planar space and allow for easier travel between the two planes. While like a portal, magic is required to make the jump.

The current view is that the elemental planes serve as connecting planes between the various material, outer, and demi planes. Beyond that not much is currently understood about the planar cosmology.
