The Great Equality

The Great Equality (A.K.A. The United Collective of Men, Women, Children, etc. of the Great Equilibrium) is an organization from the Old World before the Coalition was all powerful. Founded by 5 Elders who believed the world should be founded on equality, not struggle. People flocked to join this movement, until almost a quarter of the galaxy stood by the Great Equality.

The Great Equality, as the name suggests, believed that everyone should be given equal everything. Equal rights, equal opportunities, equal base resources, and equal chance to succeed in life. The movement was mostly successful, with those who wished to just live their lives being satisfied with their lives, while others had ample opportunity to succeed and gain more if they wished. But the leadership of the Equalists never encouraged or discouraged either life path, they were simply happy to watch everyone thrive.

Under this philosophy, people and science thrived as everyone who had a mind for it was not held back, and were actually encouraged and pushed towards greatness. Planets in the "Equal Sector", as its now called, saw enhanced growth and advancement, leading to technology, magic, and artifacts that still far surpass what the Coalition has been able to create. Any person with a sound mind and a history book will quickly snatch up any item that has the genuine equal symbol engraved deep into its form.

As the Coalition's rise to power quickened, they clashed with the Equalists, who despised their beliefs that struggle was needed for people to grow. War broke out quickly, with the still-young Coalition wanting to prove themselves, and the Equalists wanting to prove their values correct. Leading the charge for the Equality was the man known as the "Great Equalizer" Geoff Castillo, an elven man of noble descent, a very picturesque hero type with flowing blonde hair, an excellent build, and charming personality. The Coalition was spear-headed by the mysterious Head of the Navy, who led the charge personally as Supreme Commander.

Ultimately, the Coalition won, having an early version of the Navarchs and far superior numbers. The consequences of this battle were large, the Coalition forcibly dispersed the Equalists, and gave a particularly brutal punishment to Geoff himself. His body was frozen in time, unable to age or die, while he remained fully conscious and aware of everything. He was forced to watch all he and the Elders built together crumble and fall into oblivion as the Coalition he hated became all powerful.

And so the benevolent rule of the Equality came to a close, but no civilization is ever truly gone. Their history remains, with their knowledge and artifacts spread around the world, waiting to be found and claimed.
