Matthias

Matthias the Hero (Or the Knight of Justice) is a paladin of Caetos, the god of courage, heroism, and the masses. One of the three Pirate Lords in contest for the title of Voidlord. He is a 6'0" human, with sleek black hair, stubble, and always in a full suit of old-fantasy armor. He wields a longsword decorated with red, black, and gold. Inscribed on his sword are the runes for: "Courage Multiply Strength Multiply", which he ignites in battle. Matthias is mostly accepted as the leader of the church of Caetos, being its number one preacher and strongest warrior. This leads him to form deep bonds with other large figures in the religion like Sunny, and is seen as a role-model by many.

Matthias is described by those who know him as: "A really great guy, just can't see the big picture", "A true hero out of a movie! Too bad he never seems to get the over-arching scheme...", "Guy has a great heart, a terrible brain though".

It is generally agreed that Matthias, while a good man at heart, can never seem to grasp the bigger picture around him. He will fight till the very last individual is saved, and spends most of his time on planets wrought with issues, fixing them one by one. Matthias has no concept of the Coalition's Grasp, or that it has any corruption. Waving off incidents as "one-offs" or "slight mishaps". Mechabellum wanting reformation and Flamebeard wanting destruction of the Coalition both think he is an idiot.

If he is ever awoken to the worlds bigger problems, he could become a huge issue for the Coalition's corrupt High Command, or any other evil threat. He is the only living man known to go toe-to-toe with a Navarch, survive, and even killed the Navarch of Water, Hydronus and Navarch of Reflection, Simon. He is widely known for banishing the Archdemon Triptonius, the founder of the Cabal, back to Avernus.

Matthias travels in a smaller cruiser, with void-jump capabilities and a divine autopilot known as the Eclipse. This is the previous ship of the Sunny Pirates, and is assumed to be a gift from Sunny himself during Operation Bait-and-Switch.

When asked on his opinions of the Warlords, Matthias simply responds: "My number 1 goal is to wipe out all evil, the first major step in that is wiping the Warlords out."
