Magic Modification

Magic is more freely manipulated and is more of a building block system in this world. Therefore, magic items and their uses change dramatically. For instance, if you are tired of having to buy items made by archwizards for years or dragons in days, you instead can buy a vial of Ink-Blood and spend your own time painting and inscribing runes on your own equipment to add effects. Instead of buying healing potions, you can paint the rune for Repair on a piece of paper, drop it into a syringe of water, and inject it into someone to heal them.

Instead of buying items to enhance Spell DCs or adding +2 to hit, you instead buy items that add the Fire rune for free to your spells, or enhance certain rune's effects like making Multiply add more projectiles.

You can even buy tablets inscribed with rare or mythical words for a one-use power bonus to your Rune-Weaving.
