00007-Rembrandt's Memorial Medal for Distinguished Service

The Medal Unofficially known as Meihomei's Cat, officially known as "The Rembrandt the Cat Memorial Award of Sacrifice" is granted to those who've done some great deed at personal risk, that rewarded/benefited the state of Great Kagome.   The heart-shaped medal, hung on a purple ribbon, commemorates the family cat who saved the ruler. Another, much lesser known medal exists, for those who are members of the imperial family, who make an equal sacrifice, those are known as Meihomei's Medal of Sacrifice for Meihomei's Own. It is almost never awarded, and counts as the single top award of Kagomei, the articles, while open to interpretation, state that you can be jailed for ignoring the wearer.   It ranks above the next highest rank/title, the Grand Cordon of the Order of Great Kagome, then the Merit of Honor. All three highest rank mostly differ not in prestige but on who it can be awarded, and for what. Since Meihomei's Own is only awarded for personal sacrifice, when it's not awarded posthumously, it's a fast track to prestige and power(the Grand cordon is mostly awarded for friendly foreign rulers, the Merit of Honor is for serving military officers, not royals).   A single Rembrandt's memorial is not quite as prestigious as the Merit of Honour, but it is much more likely to be awarded posthumously.
