Mount Niaholm

The Lone Mountain In The Desert

Why is this here? In the middle of a desert? It has no place!
- Hargus Hurryhouse on first seeing Mt. Niaholm
Mount Niaholm has always puzzled and awed those who have seen it. And they are few, for the mountain can be found in the middle of the Muioqa Desert . Imagine, a mountain that is snow-capped year-round in the middle of a desert?

This mountain was likely volcanic in creation, reaching amazing heights in the middle of the desert with the nearest water sources nearly 4 days away in good conditions. In the heat of summer, the badlands and dry desert terrain are virtually impassable.

Fauna & Flora

In the middle altitudes on the mountain, you will find the standard variety of mountain dwelling animals and evergreen trees. Near the bottom, the flora turns to more scrub brush, and finally, nothing. The top is well above the treeline, It is rumored that an ancient dragon lives in the caves at the top, but the stories all are handed down and no one ever claims to have see the dragon themselves.

Natural Resources

The mountain offers very little but rubble. Even the snow is not much help. As it melts, it seeps into the rock of the mountain, never making it to the bottom.
