Central Tilth Safety Code
No one speaks louder than a silenced people.
Growing Unrest In Central Tilth over the past several generations has lead the Metilth Working Caste to develop new, secret forms of communication. None is more closely guarded than the Safety Code, a way of marking buildings and businesses that are friendly to the cause. It is also used to communicate times and places of meetings to members of the The Underground Artisans Alliance, as well as to mark targets of future action such as the homes of known Medache.
Perhaps the most noteworthy fact about the Safety Code is that the Alliance has managed to keep it totally secret from the Shadow of the Wing due to their own diligence, and the hubris of the Ploui and his Cused.
Writing System
The base structure of the language depends on a vertical line, as all characters are made in relation to that line. This means that the language can be hidden in notches on a doorpost, ribbons around a street pole, or even fingers resting lightly on an arm or leg.
Geographical Distribution
Located almost exclusively in the Residential, Entertainment, and Mercantile Districts of Central Tilth, a few examples have also been found in the foundary district, especially inside the glass-blowing shops themselves.
Syntax
Descended from Seasign, it makes use of a similar abbreviated syntax, eliminating structure in favor of clarity. Somthing like, "bring knife me" is easier in an emergency than, "Please won't you bring me that knife that I might save our lives," quite clearly. The same here, where communicating "safe" or "snitch" or "18th hour" is all that is needed.
