Primum Species Association

About

The Primum Species Association (PSA) was founded to observe and record the ever growing number of Sefora and Shyr hybrids and establish rules that would allow reoccurring hybrids to become officially recognized species. Because all hybrids are fertile and both Shyr and Sefora are constantly exposed to one another, the potential for new hybrids and reoccurring hybrids is at a constant high. The list is ever growing. The PSA recognizes hybrids as an official species when at least 500 individuals of a particular hybrid are recorded. It should be noted that in addition to new hybrids forming, some may be categorized as subspecies of an existing species depending on the genetic similarity. For example, a Winged Pateru is often regarded as a Pateru subspecies.   Officially recognized hybrid species include Amzor, Seyrin, Winged Pateru, Shyrtuu, Iithuu, Patuu, and Kyril.

Recorded Hybrids

The list of all recorded species and hybrids is as follows:

Full Blooded Sefora

Pateru
Kartuu

Full Blooded Shyr

Shyr (several subspecies/faction variants)
Ny’kor
Ly’kor

Half Blooded Sefora Hybrids

Iithuu
Patuu

Half Blooded Sefora/Shyr Hybrids

Plated Amzor
Common Amzor
Common Seyrin
Empress Seyrin
Nytuu
Plated Nytuu
Lytuu
Empress Lytuu
Sheru
Shyrtuu

Mixed Blooded Hybrids

Winged Pateru (three variants)
Kyril
Imperial Amzor
Kriltuu
Amtuu
Seytuu
Kramtuu
Kreytuu
Aytuu
Shymzor
Shyrin
Shyril
It should be noted that hybrids from dark core (Amzor and Ny’kor) and light core (Seyrin and Ly’kor) species are nonexistent due to the nature of energy usage during Shyr and Sefora reproduction. Any offspring that may be conceived via any mix of these four, where dark and light cores mingle, has a very low to nearly no chance of survival. Core defects are prominent in equally balanced light/dark core combos which result in a pup’s premature demise. As neutral mixed blood is added to the lineage, these defects become less and less likely.   A hybrid between a Ny’kor and Ly’kor is impossible.

Related Species

There are a number of genetically similar species known as “False Sefora” or “Falsies” whose cores or physical traits are not consistent with that of a true Sefora. Identified species include Vezdra, Kebiil, and Omgori. These species are located throughout the Shyrofor system and the PSA does its best to ensure that False Sefora are properly categorized. Because Falsies are genetically similar enough to breed with Shyr and Sefora, the PSA is paying close attention to any new Falsies and Falsie/Sefora or Shyr hybrids. However, the identified Falsies so far have physiological differences that make hybridizing very difficult, so no proof of interbreeding has yet been recorded.
