Kornôgel

Geography

The Continent of Kornôgel is located to the West of the Mor Bras, South of the Mor Marv and North of the Mor Kreizdouar, which separates it from the Southern continent of Alkebulan. While the landmass continues to extend Eastward, the charted continent ends in the Forest of the Erlking and the mountains beyond it.   The Southwestern-most point is found on the Shattered Peninsula, also called the Shatterlands, formerly the capital of the Great Empire of Tarif. Destroyed in The Tear, the Peninsula is now a maze of deep gashes and chasms, the waters of the Mor Bras and Mor Kreizdoaur flooding into the lower levels. The Kingdom of Navarra borders the Northern reaches of the Shatterlands, supporting a mediterrannean climate.   Navarra is bordered on the Northeast by the Duchy of Akitainia, one of the largest sovereignties on the continent, which follows the Ar Mor northwards along the Pleg-mor Gwaskogn, a large bay of the Mor Bras, terminating in the Armorican Peninsula. The Armorican Peninsula, also known as the "Penn-ar-Bed" (World's End), marks the Northwestern extreme of the continent, and is bordered by the Mor Breizh, a narrow channel that separates the continent from the Island of Albia, reaching The Contentin Peninsula and continuing Eastward along the northern Ar Mor of Gallia and The Cloth Cities. Here, the Mor Breizh becomes the Mor Marv, and the plains become the dark Forest of the Erlking. The Kingdom of Arle follows this border Southwards to the Mor Kreizdoaur.   The Northeast Border of Navarra is the mountainous County of Tolosa, which follows the Mor Kreizdouar Eastward to the border of Arle and the Meneziou Gwenn, snow capped mountains that separate Arle from the The Golden Sea, a peninsula dominated by mercantile city states. Across the water to the East is the The Sea of Wine, a wild peninsula and archipelago dominated by a hengoad Bleed.   In the far North, The Lost Peninsula, located across the Mor Marv, is thought to have been connected to the mainland at some point in the past, although flooding has removed any such connection to the South and West, the Forest of the Erlking rendering it all but inaccessible to land-based travel.

History

Once dominated by the Empire of Tarif, Kornôgel is now largely a collection of smaller sovereignties and regions. At present, much of the continent is nominally sworn to the Kingdom of Gallia, with Akitania, Anjev, the Cloth Cities, Letha, Normandi, and Tolosa all swearing some level of fealty to the Crown, although in reality, all exhibit some degree of autonomy or outright independence. With the Kingdom of Arle in disarray, Gallia's primary rival for continental control is Logres, exerting its influence across the Mor Breizh.
