Human
It's been a long time since anyone called humans Earthlings, or Terrans. Some cultures call them Solians, after the name of their home system. In any case, humans arrived on the galactic scene over five hundred years ago with a little help from the Thaal. Their homeworld was dying -- their fault, really -- and none of the other worlds in their system could really support life. So the Thaal came down to their world and helped them evacuate, granting them a basic understanding of Altspace so they could make it on their own.
Humans are fairly common in the Galactic Enforcement Agency worlds. You can find them on nearly any settled world, in any space lane, and on the frontier. Humans are unusually likely to be sexually compatible and capable of reproduction with other species. The only other feature they share in common is a desire for a place to call home.
