Emerald Enclave Organization in Ahmarath | World Anvil

Emerald Enclave

The Emerald Enclave is an organization of druids and other nature worshipers. The actions of the Enclave influence the lives of the high and low, its members avoiding good and evil to focus on the needs of the natural world and resist the growing influence of humankind. Despite their primary goal of preserving nature, members are not direct opponents of progress; they prefer instead to work with civilized folk to promote the health of the natural world without resorting to acts of violence.   The group opposes threats to the natural world and helps others survive the many perils of the wild. A ranger might be hired to lead a caravan through a treacherous mountain pass or the frozen tundra of Icewind Dale. A druid might volunteer to help a small village prepare for a long, brutal winter. Barbarians and witches who live like hermits most of the year might defend a town against marauding orcs or barbarians. Members of the Emerald Enclave know how to survive, and more importantly, they want to help others do the same. They are not opposed to civilization or progress, but they strive to prevent civilization and the wilderness from destroying one another.   More than anything, the Enclave are survivalists. They have learned to tackle any environment and know what it takes to deal with any threat nature might throw at them. Most members worship one of Eldath, Mielikki, or Silvanus, and all wear some sort of green symbol.

Structure

Initiates are required to serve neither good nor evil, to not serve any other organization (apart from the churches of Eldath, Mielikki, or Silvanus), to be innocent of crimes against nature.   The Enclave has roughly five steps of rank:
  1. Springwarden
  2. Summerstrider
  3. Autumnreaver
  4. Winterstalker
  5. Master of the Wild
On top of these ranks, there is a hierarchy of Circles, each of which has its own very distinct responsibility.
  1. Circle of Initiates, where everyone starts.
  2. Circle of Earth, which takes care of the land.
  3. Circle of Air, surveyors and those called in when the Enclave is in trouble.
  4. Eldath's Circle, serving the Green Goddess.
  5. Planar Circle, defending the world against threats from other planes.
  6. The Elder Circle, the leaders of the Emerald Enclave
    1.   The three members of the Elder Circle are followers of Eldath, Mielikki, and Silvanus.

Public Agenda

The Emerald Enclave used to be much more focused on just defending nature against those who might harm it, but over time they have increasingly worked to preserve the balance between nature and civilization. For instance, they are likely to offer guides and protectors to aid those who want to go into the wilderness, instead of attacking someone who does so with harmful intent. This way they hope to win over hearts and minds instead of simply defending. That said, they will come down with a vengeance on anyone who upsets the balance.

History

During the Spellplague, the Emerald Enclave lost its home in the form of the island Ilighôn. Partially as a result, the group became xenophobic and attacked anything that seemed Spellscared.
