Moltons

One of the surface creatures that have been seldom seen before is the Molton. Best described as part mole, part worm, it burrows into the lava with its carapace made from heat-resistant Armorum covering. In the 'Frozen months’, the Molton go into a type of stasis and remerge in the warmer months.
