Since they were young, they were very different from each other, but they loved each other nevertheless. Their varying traits inadvertently influenced and partially shaped the personalities of the other, although this sometimes went unsaid. Magnar's bravery and boldness rubbed off on Syndri a little, and Syndri's kindness and compassion rubbed off on Magnar a little.
Nicknames & Petnames
The two most often refer to each other as brother or bub. Magnar and many others call Syndri "Lad" or "The Lad" almost as if it is his title.

Anselma loved Magnar, but she didn't want to. She was afraid to fall in love due to a horrible vision she had years ago when she was but a child. She dreamt that the sun shone and everyone was gathered for her wedding. She couldn't see her groom, but once they exchanged vows, gloomy clouds rolled in and the overcast caused all of the onlookers to fall. She never told anyone except her closest friend- her mother- as she combed her hair, and as the years went by, her mother forgot (or never mentioned it again) but it loomed over Anselma, haunting her daily. She kept her guard up trying to make sure that no one could ever steal her heart. By happenstance, Magnar caught her when her guard was completely down. Hiding behind a tree, he spied her. She was bathing in the river without a care in the world. When she noticed him, she pretended he didn't, then vanished beneath the blue. When Magnar curiously crept to the shore, she appeared behind him. She tried to keep her head steadily on her shoulders, and she played a trick on him, getting him to remove his clothes and plunge into the river. By the time he emerged, she'd taken his garments and was long gone. Magnar went on many adventures after this, but was never able to shake the idea of her from his mind. His heart ached for her and he vowed to find her again. Syndri poked much fun at him for this, but Magnar was serious. Anselma couldn't stop thinking about the man. They hadn't even exchanged names, but she felt so close to him. She longed to see him again, but her heart was afraid. Could this strange feeling be love? Probably so, she reasoned, and made an extreme effort to forget him (although she could never bring herself to discard of the keepsake she stole from him). Later on, they met again. Both were delighted. He showed it. She hid it. She tried to brush him off, but he was relentless. She helped out on a couple of missions with the brothers, disappearing and reappearing, even traveling and camping with them. She warmed up to him more and more but didn't want to give in to his attempts at stirring romance. As they grew closer, he decided he'd skip the courting process and just out and ask her to marry him. She denied him twice, but on the third ask, she surprised herself with a YES. Then, she was afraid. But they did get married anyway, and, unfortunately, the prophecy was fulfilled. Nevertheless, they wed, and handled the storms together.
Nicknames & Petnames
Anselma doesn't care for any nicknames much, but Magnar calls her anything from darling to sweetheart to my love, to thou sweet magnolia blossom, but most of these were in his "trying to get the girl" phase where he felt he needed to impress her because she wasn't showing enough interest and he was ready for the relationship to progress. Basically, those were a hopeless romantic's vain attempts of climbing out of the friendzone.

Anselma is very fond of Syndri and often jokes about him being cuter than Magnar.
