Tellurian Calander System in The Chronicles of Evalaw | World Anvil

Tellurian Calander System

Originally conceived by the Fyllids before the time of The Sundering, the Tellurian system of keeping time has long been adopted by all civilised races that proceeded them. Since the events long after The Sundering is became greatly debated among the societies of Horology and Cosmology how exactly the celestial year was to broken down; nobody was quite sure to accurately predict the passage of the year due to chaotic fluctuations of Evalaws' three moons. However, pushed by popular propaganda by many of the mercantile nations it is agreed upon by the societies that there are in approximation 510-645 days to each celestial year - though it is not uncommon for people to ignore the complicated astrological system and instead use the popularised 'half-year' Tellurian system which is divided into much more predictable 350 days. The Tellurian year has fourteen months which fall into five defined seasons, listed below. (25 days per month, 3 weeks, 8 days.)
