Ril’Nyiia Character in The Chronicles of Evalaw | World Anvil

Ril’Nyiia

What once was Dral'azie has long since rotted away. Ril'Nyiia, the pale queen. Goddess of fungi, lady of rot and Decay. Once the self-proclaimed saviour and leader of her people, now their doom.
Among the fungal infested ruins of the once prosperous city-state of Menor’cress lurks a unseen malice. Whispers speak of a pale demon, wreathed in death and decay reigns over The Sea of Spores. Rumored to be the very heart of the corruption that spills forth from Menorcress, her wretched minions shamble forth at her command, mindlessly spreading the blight further to new pastures. As the sea of spores expands, so too does her kingdom. If the stories are to be believed, and this pale queen commands the blight, then this could perhaps be the greatest threat to The Sunless Realms and all that dwell withing it.   What remains of Ril’Nyiia Ci’huaturu is now only vaguely humanoid. Her mind now apart of the fungal hive-mind of the mycelium network, twisted and corrupted with an entirely alien concept of ethics and mortality. While Resperin may have been led astray, meddling with old forbidden magic that caused the fungal jungles around Menor'cress to grow uncontrollable. It was Ril’Nyiia Ci’huaturu, Matriarch of Menor'cress that would doom the city and her people. Taking no heed of the wayward druids dire warning, she claimed the power of a fallen god as her own. Ultimately, it was this hubris that would be her undoing. Believing it could restore her fortunes and banish the foes that plagued her, bringing a new golden age to Meno'cress.   Now, a Queen of an entirely new domain, Ril’Nyiia old ambitions remain the same. To bring all Ril’Nyiia views as rightfully hers under her rule and destroy those that would oppose her will. Spreading The Mycelium Blight to all living things, addling their minds and corrupting their bodies, becoming her mindless subjects. Eventually succumb to the spores and decomposing into hosts for her fungi to spread. To most this seems like a ghastly fate, to Ril’Nyiia it is a form of Apotheosis…
