Wanderlust

Ever since I was just a little ball of scales shaking egg fragments off my head, I knew that I was meant to see more than just the stones I'd grow up in!
— Lizardfolk adventurer's account
  • Most folks experience a degree of wanderlust at some point in their lives, but not all find themselves truly afflicted with the condition in its purest form.
  • Some folks are simply born with the burning desire to see the world, travel to its every corner, and uncover that which has never been found before.
  • Not all are born with the wanderlust flowing through their veins; sometimes, the yearning for adventure and a new quest strikes when you least expect it. Some will spend their whole lives living and working in one place until one day they simply feel like something out there is calling to them in a way they can't explain, and the only solution is go out in search of it.
  • For some, this wanderlust may be temporary. It may fall away with age, or it may reach a satisfying conclusion with the closing of a quest or a great mystery, and some simply grow homesick after a while and return to their old life, but with a new appreciation for the world around them now that they had gotten a taste of what's out there.
  • Is there a cure for wanderlust? Aside from setting off on a journey into the unknown, there is no known way to effectively curb wanderlust when it sets in. It can be pushed away, relegated to daydreams and aspirations but never acted upon, but it will always remain bubbling beneath the surface until the adventure becomes real.
  • The onset of Wanderlust is often named as the push that drove most Adventurers to choose the path that they did!
