The Fire Nation

This article is an overview of the Fire Nation

Written by: Leafy

Introduction

The Fire Nation is one of the four original nations in the physical world. Made up of several islands, the Fire Nation resides on the western edge of the known world. The nation is home to most firebenders, and is governed by an absolute monarchy headed by the Fire Lord. The people of the Fire Nation are a proud, strong group - known worldwide for the passion and resolve. Perhaps the most influential aspect of the Fire Nation within recent memory is the Fire Nation military. Having been responsible for the Air Nomad genocide during the 100 Year War, the military is a formidable force of strictly disciplined soldiers. However, after the end of the 100 Year War, the Fire Nation started down a path of reform. Now, the nation is not just known for their powerful military, but their exports of damascus steel, as well as their diplomatic reach across the world.

Present (315 AG)

Currently, the Fire Nation is under the rule of Fire Lord Kano Sento, who came to power in the year 313 AG after posing a coup to overthrow Liv Daeyung. Fire Lord Kano has been working diligently with the Fire Nation High Ranking Officials in order to establish a Tri-Alliance with the Earth Kingdom and Water Tribes. However, there was a time of dissent late in the year 313 AG, where Mahatma Quali led a group of Fire Nation Officials in a strike, demanding that Kano step down and give Grand Sage Leafy the throne. When neither side decided to cooperate, Quali and her followers left the Fire Nation - leading to the appointment of Mahatma Ryuki.
