Known as the "Guarded Kingdom" because dangerous web covered forests of the west prevent travel by land, the Kingdom of Barisea has pursued trade and travel via ship and portal to keep up with the rest of the world. However, due to the limited amount of travel and seclusion, rumors of xenophobia and violence follow mention of the kingdom.

While the kingdom is quite self-sustaining and most of its people are actually far from xenophobic in contrast to popular belief, it seems that Barisea encounters far more rift problems than its immediate neighbor, the Isle of Mercy. Currently, the kingdom is seeing not only an uptick in raids and missing peoples but also a rise in refugees and extra-planar aid.
