The Velanond Hold

The original home of House Velanond before it was burned to the ground during one of the raids of Rhäehalian used to be a grand manor that housed all the secrets the family of night hunters held. It was a place where the family and their allies met to discus plans of withholding the threats of the Spine and since they were the local lords of the region, they also listened to cases brought forth by the people of the land and passed on judgment.

Destruction

It is said that during the third raid of the Kingdom of Arvanoc, the region of land under the rule of House Velanond stood guard and did its best to thwart the entry of the elven forces into the mountains. While many saw it as hostile, the hunters within the house warned them that something lay further into the range that they had been working on keeping at bay for generations. The house was torched and its inhabitants killed by the armed forces that eventually overwhelmed the land and entered into the rift hoping to find what it was that Arvanoc people and use it as a weapon in the war. Those that entered the Spine never returned and a great host of the western forces were lost. While many in stories and in Räehal attributed the destruction of that force to House Velanond, those in Ehranor, the Telda'Velahrn, and the people that lived in the shadow of the Spine knew that something had awakened and the protectors were killed.

Revived

The last of the house was a young Trefor that had been snuck out once the host had been spotted. He had watched from high up in the mountains as his House fell and his home was burned. After decades away, he returned from his journeys along with Syvana Valin and Vyar Lucard to fight the shadow that had been awoken the day his family had been killed.   Using the magics she had learned from the Whispered City, Syvana was able to open the secret vault within the hold's ruin and uncover the secrets that had been gathered for generations.
