Episode 82: To the West and to War

Previously...

After Tetran disappeared, the party was left with not only a new ally to loop into things- Tetran's sister, Lix- but a muddled path moving forward. With Kingsfall left to recover from the recent attacks and the group no closer to uncovering a way to deal with the generals and the Rasa, the path they choose to take is the one they know for certain will help: find a haven for refugees and alert the world to what's coming.

General Summary

Eventually deciding to search out for alliances and another haven for the remaining refugees of the United Realm, the Wayfinders visit the Temple of Kerythae where Ellana had been staying arranging what looks to be battle strategies and utilizing all the Sending spells in the temple. While Reylan hopes that her mentor could perhaps arrange for a teleport to the Riversend War Academy in the state of Vellaria, the group learned that efforts have already begun to start the war and that the Crown's District was mounting a rescue that she called a "suicide".   After she gave her word to arrange travel, the group split up to make their preparations with the remaining days they had left. Reylan stayed to assist in what way she could, Gideon went to the Ardent Hammer, Plum headed back to the Dragon's Keep Inn, and the remaining trio searched for a fight pit completely oblivious to the fact that their Kingfall guard was still shadowing them.   After their own individual mornings, both Reylan and Gideon visited the Crown's District to deliver the news that the party was going to forgo a rescue attempt and instead work on aiding with relocation efforts in order for a war against the Rasa to continue unhindered on a different realm. Lady Keldarn acknowledged their decision but made them aware that an attempt was going to be made nonetheless now that their people were located as the Crown's duty was to its people. Though Reylan cautioned it was a suicide attempt, Keldarn acknowledged it to be true but had arranged the rescue utilizing dishonored soldiers who wished to fight to regain their honor. Before leaving, the lady reminded them that relations were going to be tense and to be well aware that by the time they coudl return, they could be in a war with Barisea.   Meanwhile, with Vasya arranging a "champion" brawl, Lix ended up fighting a very agile and deft monk, able to overcome him with her handy reflexes and armor though this didn't go over very well with the gangsters that had placed a high bet on the opposing warforged. With the group getting chased, they had run fast and had forgotten their guard behind but instead, when they turned back, their guard emerged at their tail with his blade drawn stating that he had taken care of the issue before returning to mercilessly slaughter two more to leave a message before returning back to the Wayfinder Manor.   Once Reylan was made aware of the fact, she confronted Brennix and unlocked a new ability of the blade utilizing the Arclight's insight into a person to show him a different side to his judgment. While the guard was left unharmed but shaken, Lix made the group aware that there was a secret within the house's basement: a sealed door.   Unaware of the trap, the group unwittingly sprung a portable hole trap, but because Lix had been wearing a bag of holding, she ended up destroying that space that she fell into and shunting herself and her mech into the Astral Sea. Panicking after realizing what happened, Reylan was able to Send a message to Lix and tell her of the pocket dimension that held the four portals that could take her where she wished. Waiting until she returned and after have discovered the treasure and curse that hid beyond the stone wall, the Wayfinders found themselves delayed a day before Lix returned.   Not wanting to dive immediately into travel and insiting that they each get some rest, Reylan arranged for the group to take a circle into a cache house at Astraeus Reach and then a small sloop to the Falls where the Blue Falcon Crew resided and where their mansion was still under construction. Showing Lix the house that was signed to her brother's name, Reylan offered her his room in his stead during their visit before introducing her to the rest of the crew. While most of the group enjoyed one last day and evening with their friends (including Sheriff Kam), Plum spent the rest of his time at the bar eventually catching up with Brax to say farewell. The Silver Protector, sporting a new eyepatch and scar, was rather proud of Plum and happy for him to travel and have an adventure promising him there would always be a place for him at the bar for when he returned.   With farewells said and the party reuniting to following day, they were met by Ellana's means of teleportation, a dwarf mage who took them to the bridge of the Riversend Academy to meet with their emissary, a man that introduced himself as Flecks.
