Anuzim’s Militia
Anuzim is a city-state without a large professional army, although they do have a group of professional officers that create the permanent structure of law and order in the city. The Militia arose from a need not to fight an external force, but to control the forces within Anuzim. As a trading hub violent, drunken, transients become a real threat to the stability of the city. It became a matter of regular dispute in which those heritage families from the original descendants of the Followers of Nylvi, pseudo-Aristrocrats, sought a solution.
Structure
Every permanent structure in Anuzim was assigned a levy(tax) of labour in which every building must answer a call to serve the Militia keeping the peace in Anuzim when demanded. In answering the call, the residents of the building must send someone residing inside that building. Thus, businesses in Anuzim will always have occupied guest rooms and Artisans will often send their apprentices.
Permanent citizens of Anuzim are conscripted into the Militia to act as a community watch brigade, with the full ability to arrest and detain those who disturb the peace. After donning the light blue Militia tunic and the black metal truncheon, the conscripted resident is assigned into a unit under the order of a permanent officer, who commands their routes.
Those detained by the Militia are brought to the militant's commanding officer, who will take an oral report and either assign a fine to the transgression or prepare a written report for further deliberation by Anuzim’s court.
History
The Militia has historically served the people of Anuzium quite well, but recent years have seen rise to an increased threat of desert monsters to the city's outskirts. The Militia is best suited as a peacekeeping force and, as such, has hired mercenaries from the neighbouring Adazüyük to keep the borders safe.
