Paruz of Sakouramish travel diary

The travel diary of Paruz of Sakuramish, Seris admiral and explorer is stored at the temple of Alara in Sakouramish , the Seris capital, although copies of it exists in the libraries of the capital and the Imperial Palace.  It describes the peoples, traditions and cities that the Seris great fleet and its admiral saw during their journey to the West.

Estructure and Content

The diary is divided into four books or tomes. The first book is dedicated to the Blatian Empire and contains a really detailed description of its capital, Blati and the Imperial Court and its ceremonies. The second book is dedicated to the realm of the Green Elves with descriptions of its capital, Theloduro and the forests settlements near the coasts of the Interior Sea as well as descriptions of the Great Channel in the South of the country, that ends in the Storm Sea.   The third book is dedicated to the realms of the Half-elves, the Elvish-Oronai peoples with detail descriptions of the kingdoms of Brire and Stormitia and their most famous cities as well as the products you can find in their markets and their tradition. And, lastly, the last book talks about the westernmost human realms of Teria, the kingdoms of Wesdaland and Witharfia and warns about the frozen waters a sailor might encounter on those northern shores from winter to spring.   The diary also comes with detail depictions of the coastline and geography of these regions. In total there is a total of 60 maps and illustrations included in this diary.

Reception

The diary had a huge reception in the Seris world, and beyond with translations in elvish, the language of culture and diplomacy, quickly appearing in various realms of Karia. It filled the imagination of many inhabitants of the Eastern Continent who considered the western regions of Teria as mysterious, exotic and unexplored. The book also became the only source of knowledge of these parts of the world for the Seris and the rest of Kallia for almost 200 years.

Quotes from the diary:

"Across the Mountains, south of the Southern Desert, lies the fertile and rich Parana Valley. This valley is home to very fast horses, perhaps the finests in the world. There are also many sanctuaries in the region, but perhaps one of the most famous is that located in the city of Banias. According to legend the Godess of the Earth was born here and many people and mighty kings come here to the cave where she lived before travelling to the Kallian Plains, where, on the spot where the city of the Blatians is located, was married to the father of the Gods, blessed be his name ".
— Description of Banias by Paruz ca. 601 AP

We enter into the room of the five doors, where we were recieved by the Emperor, dressed in gold and purple with its golden crown with pearls, surrounded by the Senators and accompanied by the Empress. Its roofs and dome are made of gold and its walls are covered by silver plates and mosaics depicting the gods and Emperors of the past. The throne is made of gold and so it is made the roof that covers it. The emperor recieved us with kind and warm words, he listened carefully to the proposals of Your Majesty and agreed with them. He then excused himself for he had to attend the religious rites performed at the great temple, but he invited us to dinner with him and he order the slaves of the palace to prepare the best rooms for such important guests.
— Paruz of Sakouramish about his reception at the Imperial Palace in Blati.
