Horned Stalker

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Horned Stalker appears to be a hybrid beast between a majestic lion-like creature and a bull. Male versions of these creatures have a similar mane like lions but have horns. These creatures have a hard time finding a mate to reproduce with, and it is especially hard when a pride of lions lives in the same area as a herd of horned stalkers. Female horned stalkers resemble female lions. Scholars have started to figure out some differences between female lions and female horned stalkers. Horned stalkers are typically larger and have a broader stance than female lions.

Genetics and Reproduction

Horned Stalkers tend to mate in herds and typically only have four males per herd. These are the only males that have matting potential. The herd may have more than four males, but they haven't proved themselves capable of mating. The herd tends to understand maturity in choosing the four mating males. This understanding comes from similar to how wolves and lions determine their alpha.   Studies have shown that female lions are also able to mate with horned stalkers. The result is always a male horned stalker. This is an aggressive, dominant trait if they find pride in lions in their territory. The female lions end up perishing when they give birth to a horned stalker.

Growth Rate & Stages

Horn stalkers young tend to look like lion cubs. The only exception is male cubs have stubs on their heads where their horns will grow. As they grow, the horns grow to lengths of two feet. It is rumored that if a male cub has extra stubs that it could turn into a great Felidar and could have a more celestial means to its creation.
