Moon of Zongshi

One of the moons that twist and turn their ways through the skies of Vaale, rolling along their cycles around the sun. This moon in particular is characterized by its distinct green coloring, giving it the appearance of faded jade. Beyond this one alteration it appears the same as the rest of its fellows. Like all of the moons in Vaale it is a place of rest for one of the Outsiders that was drawn to the Material plane upon the advent of the Archetypes; unlike the other moons, this one is not a tomb but a temple and from its reflecting light comes guidance for the lands below.   Overseen by Zongshi, his people, the Almiraj, revere this moon and its pallid light, using it to mark their year and draw from it their understanding of the powers of divination and other magics. There are festivals celebrating this moon all throughout the lands of the Almiraj--both those in the deserts and the hills make time for celebrations of the New Year, the Mid-Year and End of Year. When the moon is full, it is marked as a time of discovery and growth for those Almiraj of the hills of Tian'Xian while a New Moon promises better hunting and safety from harm to the Almiraj of the Hinterlands.   The moon itself being held as the palace and lands of Zongshi of course are also believed to be inhabited by 1000 of his select Almiraj, forebears of great importance and that hold a near-divine reverence equaling those of the gods to the terra-dwelling rabbit-folk. Called 'Immortals' or 'Great Ancestors' respectively, these Almiraj are his messengers and army and many a tale is told of their escapades and glories. Lineages and claims of divine right are based upon these names; to be able to trace or claim the birthright of one of these immortals signifies not only Zongshi's blessing to lead but indeed necessitates it.
