Frais the Pleasure Town

Demographics

The demographics of Frais change almost daily since it's an area that's half of a "let's live here all of the time" and half of a "let's visit here and have fun together" town. There are more people that spend a night or two from neighboring cities (and ocean/river) than there probably are living in there full time.

Defences

The town has a large guard that goes around and makes sure that everybody, no matter what side of the exchange, is still having fun together. They also have a large sea-facing ring of cannons to protect against pirate attacks, and have gates at the entrances of the city so that bandits on the land side don't get any ideas to pillage them.

Industry & Trade

Most of the industry and trade in this town is based on the idea of love and sex. There are "potions" to take that will enhance a person's virality (or "make" another person fall in love with them), places to rent by the hour, and a lot of things that can be done in the city.

Infrastructure

Most of the houses in the area are two or three stories. In most cases, a large family can live on both stories, or a smaller family can decide to live on one floor and rent out the other one. For businesses, the usual idea is that the bottom floor is fit for families and the "goods" for sale on the higher floor are good for adults.

Tourism

Tourism is the second biggest draw to the area - there are places to swim, places to play, and as someone once said, "if a person's tired of this place, then they're tired of all the good things in life." There's also rumors that whatever you want you can get in Frais.
