Summary

"Then you will have to live in the Train Graveyard forever and ever," the little girl chimmed. Bridtrerchier frowned and nodded at the girl before saying, "Forever is a very long time indeed."
The story begins with a normal train trip. No one thought that anything strange was going to happen, because they were all wanting to see their families again. None of the passages was as eager to go home than a little boy. This boy sat by himself and looked out of the window waiting.   Suddenly the conductor spoke over the intercom for all of the passages to hear. His voice sounded eerily cheery almost as if he was going forced to speak. The conductor announced, "Ladies and gentlemen please do not be alarmed or worried. The train will be taking a short stop at Schilullk De's Train Graveyard."   The train derailed and fell into the Graveyard. Everyone on the train was reported dead. To this day trains do not run at night for fear of the same thing happening. If only the story ended there.   According to the story, the little boy survived that train's tumble. He followed the wind through the graveyard in hopes of finding someone who could help him. The child was battered and bleeding. He was found a few days later by neighborhood watch. He was so close to the train station and yet he was dead. The boy's lips and throat were covered in black ash and his injuries where infected. But he didn't die from these injures. According to the town's healer and doctor, the boy had suffocated.   Since the ash was the only clue as to the child's killer the people became to call it the Black Wind, or the Nightwind. More stories were made of this monster to stop children from trying to go to the graveyard at night.

After Nyiltokti was built the only way to get from the top part of town to the underbelly of the town was by train. The trains were not always the safest way to travel because the tunnels were new and some of them were not built very well. The tunnels around Schilullk De were the worst offenders. Schilullk De became know as a place for trains to go to die.   The first known story about the Black Wind came from for of the last of the early accidents. The connector was driven mad and forced the train's drive to derail into the graveyard. Onlookers of the scene saw a black wind wrapped around the train. Speeding it closer to its death. Everyone on the train was found or reported dead. No one survived the crash.   The Black Flight worried about the accident and banned trains from moving at night. Even cargo trains would be forced to stop for the night. This was to make sure that this didn't happen again. Since the accident happened at night this seemed the best course of action. The Flight then sent people to figure out what happened.   The investigators found the train and started to look for clues. They couldn't find anything odd until night fell on the graveyard. The investigators started to head back to the train station when suddenly a black wind blew past them and snatched away one of the investigators. The others were able to escape and came back the next morning to figure out what happened.   The investigators found a necromancer who was gifted with wind magics and spells. They arrested the necromancer and sent him away. They thought that would be the last of it. But a few years later the Black Wind claimed another victim.
