Sacrifice

Sacrifice is a sword made with the lifeblood of Fairies from a settlement just below the Density. As Humans do not have magic, a group of them decided to find their own way of harnessing the magic of other races. As Fairies can potentially live forever, growing with their source tree, this Human group decided to steal a small number of Fairies and experiment on them. Although they could not work out the secrets to the Fairies magic, they were able to harness some of their magic into a sword. However, the scientists involved could not get the sword to activate its magic when wielded by a Human.
Therefore, they turned to the orphan children of East City and went about kidnapping them and experimenting on them. One of these children was Steve Brown, although not an orphan, he regularly hung out with a group of orphans and was captured with them. With the last of the Fairy remains they had, the scientists tried to add these pieces to the orphans. None of the first batch survived. Steve was in the second batch, and he was able to hold the sword and activate its magical blue light.
To get even this much of a result, no one knows exactly what happened in the experiment. But there was the trace of a Fairy, and there is a small about of Mermaid DNA inside of Steve, from his mother. The results of escaping the scientists, and bringing the secret laboratory down with the sword, was the start of Steve's pathway to Human Hero.
Sacrifice was officially kept under lock and key by the Council of Turien as soon as Steve brought it to them, straight from the explosion of the laboratory. Unofficially, the head of the Council at the time, Lucas Asture, taught Steve how to wield this sword and let him take it with him on certain Council missions. Through his childhood friend, Magenta Charles, Steve learnt to increase the magic reaction he had with the sword, and in time was able to 'hide' the sword in any water in the air around him.

As the only fabricated magical sword in the world able to be used by Humans, Sacrifice has been classed as 'Unique - Alert Level Feyspear'.

Raw materials & Components

The sword itself is a physical object, made with metals and able to be wielded by anyone in Turien, regardless of their magic or lack thereof. At least three metals were included in the sword blade, one metal and one wood in the grip, and a seed from a source tree in the pommel.
Within the sword was a blasting of electricity and Fairy magic. This has only been activated by Steve as there seems to be an individual binding of him to the sword.
