Ribon flower disease

For ages, mountain war bands have used the blue-ish roots from the Ribon flower to concoct war paint. Once applied to the skin, the war paint provides the wearer with unjustified courage and confidence. Though this is commonly a good thing to take off the edge for those intimidated by war, the aftereffects of this substance should be taken seriously.   Once the war paint is removed from the wearer's skin, effects such as insecurity and self hatred are prone to appear. A person experiencing these symptoms after being exposed to Ribon flower roots is said to suffer from Ribon flower disease.

Transmission & Vectors

The mental effects from the war paint are transmitted via skin contact with grinded Ribon flower roots.

Causes

In areas still uneducated about the effects of Ribon flower roots, the solution to these symptoms is often thought to be an application of more war paint. The ensuing vicious circle becomes harder and harder to break and can can lead to the breaking of a person.

Symptoms

The effects of Ribon flower disease are opposite to the immediate positive effects. Common long-term effects include insecurity, dullness, self-doubt, lack of spirit and mood swings.

Treatment

The long lasting effects of Ribon flower disease can only be cured through time. This process can be slightly sped up by a carefully brewn concoction of the Ribon flower's flowerhead. This potion is rare since the Ribon flower only blooms for short and unpredictable periods of time.

Epidemiology

Events that can cause an outbreak of Ribon flower disease are events in areas uneducated about the effects. When a warband apply this paint, many of its members are likely to become a carrier of the disease. Even when these effects are known, the positive short term effects of the doping that the Ribon flower root provides are sometimes worth taking the risk for since it can mean the difference between life and death.
