Royal Falcons
The Falcons are soldiers sworn to protect the ruler of the Kingdom of Caresnas.
Drawn from other units the Falcons are chosen for having an absolute loyalty to the crown and the ability to notice details that others might miss. Unlike with the Bellcross Badgers, fighting ability is not a requisite for being chosen, though new recruits to the Falcons will be trained in various methods of combat. What really sets the Falcons apart is the range of the skills they are expected to learn including field medicine, unarmed fighting, and survival skills. Learning all this skills has one purpose - to keep the king alive no matter what situation they find themselves in.

The weapons and equipment used by the Falcons varies depending on where they are protecting the King of Caresnas.
At Court
While the king is in the Castle at Belcross those on close escort duty will wear chain shirts under their tabards, carry shields with the emblem of Caresnas, and wield swords that are no more than 2ft in length. Those that are providing watch from further away are typically garbed in darkened leather that is embossed with the symbolf of Caresnas, and are equiped with shortbows and swords.
While Travelling
When the king leaves the castle hist escorts wear heavy chain shirts under their tabards. They also have cloaks with the unit crest on the back. Each Falcon carries a large shield, a bow, and whatever other weapon they can best use. Each also has a puch of healing supplies, including a potion of magical healing.
Structure
The Falcon's are commanded by a captain who reports to the king. In practice this cpatain will usually accept orders from the General of the King's armies, but any member of the Falcons can refuse an order from an officer outside of the Falcons if they believe it will lead to unnecessary danger to the King. The captain is assisted by a lieutenant, and they have 4 sergeants under them. Any time the King leaves the castle his escort is led by a sergeant or one of the commissioned officers.
