Fuccium

Fuccium is a metal known for its special properties, which makes it perfect for armor and even weapons. It is insanely popular with Dwarven smiths due to this, and many prominent figures with Dwarven-made armor have Fuccium at least infused into it.

Properties

Fuccium is a metal mined in the Jihdi city of Suzuishan. It is an incredibly hard substance, one that is believed to be near impossible to break. This is not true, as people with strength classified by the World Court as at least A or S have proven able to break it in some circumstances. Still, it is the strongest metal on Totania.   Its basic color is grey, though it is often painted. For example, Dwarven General Melthrum paints it Orange in honor of his squad, the Orange Phoenixes.

What does make it special, though, is its ability to absorb Magic. It has a 60% chance of absorbing spells that are hurled at it. These either do not damage the wearer, or damage them slightly when worn as armor. In weapons, they can absorb spells, though the less Fuccium is in something, the less chance it has to absorb. Fuccium is most often used in creating large shields when it comes to weapons, but more often it is just made into armor so the absorption is more useful. However, it does not simply stop once the magic has been absorbed.

Ascinating Fuccium

After absorbing magic, Fuccium becomes Ascinating. Ascinating means it is powered up. When it becomes Ascinating Fuccium, the metal gains increased defense and strength, hardening to a point where it could even scratch diamonds. For this, Fuccium is a heavily sought-after metal for armor.   It also gains a unique greenish tint that gives it a distinctive look from other metals. Even when painted, this tint can shine through the armor to show that whoever just shot that spell at someone wearing fuccium really messed up.

Famous Fuccium

Fuccium is a rare metal, only rarely being found in Suzuishan. It is even rarer for people to get their hands on an abundance of it. Those that have end up making a name for themselves. Here are some famous examples of people with Fuccium.

Grand Wizards

The sixth and seventh Draconians to hold the title of Grand Wizard, Brenvorth Taldis and Perzita Theldrar, both had Fuccium. Taldis wielded a glaive known as the Fuccstick, while Theldrar wore armor that had Fuccium infused into it. Due to how little of it covered her, she was still vulnerable to large magical attacks, which caused the Grand Wizard Struggle.

Elves

Few Elves use Fuccium, as a matter of fact many find it insulting to say they need it at all. Still, some Elves in the Elven Guard sneak it into the construction of their armor to protect themselves better. These Elves often perform better than others in battle, and gain higher positions.

Nereids

Nereids managed to get their hands on Fuccium after a ship full of it sunk into the ocean. With it, the royal family made a Trident with it, though this trident has been lost since then.

Lizardfolk

The Lizardfolk wish they had Fuccium. They believe it would help them in gaining an upper hand against the Dragon Lord Reoma the Wretched. However, one Lizardman known as Itask wields metal magic, which allows him to create Fuccium.   Despite this, Itask refuses to make more of it than enough to make himself clothes and prosthetic limbs. He tested it against a weak Dragon and found that even it was able to break through the Fuccium. Against a Dragon Lord, he theorized, it would do nothing.

Dwarves

Dwarves are the most likely ones to have Fuccium. They trade for it with the Jihdi Humans, often paying exorbitant prices for it.   In modern times, some Dwarven Generals wield it. Harbek, Melthrum, Bromdrus, and Nysnura have armor made of it, while Grammir wields a Fuccium poisoned dagger. The most impressive look for Fuccium, though, is that the suit of armor Harbek made for the mutated Genasi Ogonn Ha to wear has blueprints for future versions Harbek wants to make with Fuccium.

Kamejin

Kamejin samurai know Fuccium well, as it is legendary for being the main ingredient in the Ken no Yoso. These blades were made as a collaborative effort between Dwarven and Kamejin swordsmiths, and are sought after by every samurai in the Kamejin's Abral Empire.

Orcs

It has been said the greatest luck the world has ever had is the fact that Orcs do not know of Fuccium. If they did, they would likely not stop until as many of them as possible had Fuccium armor and weapons.

Humans

Humans do wield Fuccium, though rarely. Jihdi do not like selling it to Western Humans, so the Western Humans that have it are either rich or thieves. Jihdi make small shurikens out of them, as they pierce the skin much better due to the sharp nature of the metal. Shafaians do not normally wield Fuccium, though requests for it are often met by the Jihdi with an eagerness to do so, unlike their attitude towards Western Humans.

Halflings

For the most part, Halflings prefer to use less-impressive metals for their inventions. They have little use for something as valuable as Fuccium. This does not apply to all of them, most notably a Halfling who went by the name of Koney. Koney built a suit of armor out of Fuccium, making a system inside of the armor that would always be shooting magic at it. Therefore, his armor was always Ascinating, and always powered up. For this, he became a Debt Collector known as Fucciuman.

Trade

Fuccium is a vital resource for the Jihdi, as it is one of their few major exports. They charge high prices for it to sustain their economy, and due to its strength and unique properties, people are always willing to pay that price.   It is worth so much that the Jihdi have fortified Suzuishan, where Fuccium is found until it became one of the most defensible locations in the world. It was often attacked by Ophidians or Kamejin that wanted its resources, but the Jihdi would not let them take it. Fuccium was far, far too precious to let fall into enemy hands.
