Erumë: Desert Elves

Elves throughout Tjiramor have a reputation for appearing delicate and for enjoying the finer comforts of the kingdom. The largest exception to this is the Desert Elves of the Trare Desert   Desert Elves is what non-elves call the group. They call themselves the Erumë, which translates as desert dwellers. Other elves call them the Terthaith, which translates as waste or destruction. They don't understand why the Erumë left the green places for barren sand. The word "Terthaith" may refer to the wastelands the Erumë choose to live in, or it may refer to the opinion that the Erumë have wasted their lives.   The Erumë are taller than the average elf, ranging in height from 5'11" to 7'. They are also heavier than non-desert elves, ranging in weight from 125 to 170 lbs. Their skin tones tend to copper and bronze hues. Their hair is almost white, and their eyes resemble gold or precious gems. Erumë appear to be sturdier than their kin.   The Desert Elves favor light-colored, loose clothing. Both genders wear loose-fitting pants under a light-weight overcoat that reaches the knees. Beige turbans wrap around the elves' heads or drape around their necks. Colors are not common in Erumë clothing, allowing the elves to blend with the sands of the Trare. However, the lining of the overcoat can be embroidered with pastel-like colors.   Even at home, the Erumë carry at least two water pouches with them at all times.  They favor weapons such as spears and javelins, the khopesh, short sword, and composite bows.   Desert Elves tend to travel and live in small groups.  The clans or Nos in Elvish are tight-knit groups that can be way of outsiders. However, they will always provide shelter and water to any lost in the Trare Desert. They are slow to trust, but once an outsider gains an Erumë's trust, they are considered part of the family. Erumë will die for those in their Nos and hold long grudges with those outside the Nos.   These rivalries sometimes come to a head at the annual Yomenië or Congress of the Nos. All Nos gather at an oasis in neutral territory to share stories and plan for the Desert Elves' future.   Erumë Ability Score Increase : Increase Con by 1   Increased Endurance : Exhaustion doesn't affect Erumë as much as other elves or other lineages. Erumë can ignore the first level of exhaustion; further levels of exhaustion count as one less (i.e., level 3 exhaustion is level 2 and so on).   Camouflage : Erumë have advantage on stealth rolls when trying to blend with their surroundings, not hide behind something.   Animate Sand : Erumë have the ability to animate the desert sand. Those that travel outside the desert often carry a container of sand with them. Animated sand can be used number of times per day equal to the character's proficiency bonus. All abilities below require a handful of sand that cannot be recovered once used.
  • 1st level: Mold Sand - As an action, an Erumë can cause shapes, colors, or both to appear on a sandy surface, spelling out words, creating images or patterns. The effect will last 1 hour.
  • 4th level: Blinding Sand - As a move action, an Erumë can attempt to throw his animate sand at an opponent they can see within 30'. Make a ranged attack; on a successful attack, the opponent is blinded for 1d4 rounds.
  • 8th level: Sinking Sand - As a standard action, an Erumë can cast a handful of sand anywhere on the ground within 30' of themselves. The sand animates and attempts to grasp creatures in the area, replicating an entangle spell (DC 10 + 1/2 character level + character CHA modifier).
