Zherla Ro Ündögzhar

Audhil Ro Ündögzhar Zherla

Nothing ought to separate a monarch from their people, and yet our king persists in maintaining a supposedly insurmountable distance. He persists in preventing us from ensuring our peace and security, all to his benefit, for he believes a monarch is unique. He believes he is untouchable.
It is high time we proved him wrong.
— Ro Ündögzhar Zherla, 27th Year of Contact
Ro Ündögzhar Zherla is the current head of the Church of Balance in Kse Feorton, and a prominent public figure. She has previously served as a member of the Feorton Parliament, and is sometimes considered the mother of the nation.

History

Zherla was born into a family with little, in the Dätsalöl city of I-onülish. Her parents were proud Raisers, and gave what little extra money they had to similarly impoverished families, and Zherla would regularly volunteer to do tasks like clearing footpaths and weeding lawns to support them. She was a member of a local church of Balance from an early age, and found herself enamoured with the piety of its senior members.
As soon as she was old enough, she submitted an application to become a riishaleyan for her church. Upon being accepted, she dedicated herself wholly to her duty, helping her diverse congregation to seek Balance's guidance. However, she came to a realisation that her offered solutions were only small fixes to a larger underlying problem. When the audhil of her church resigned due to illness in the year 25 Contact, she was elected to the position by her fellows, and hoped that the greater responsibilities would enable her to better help her community.

Rebellion

Continually disillusioned by the poverty and hardships experienced by the people of I-onülish, she became increasingly radical compared to her fellows. Seeking guidance from the Divinity of Balance, she came to the conclusion that the problem bringing her community down was the poor decisions of the King of Dätsalöl at the time. She roused her congregation to protest his actions and "demand balance", and after a large scale demonstration in the city was forcibly dispersed, her superiors attempted to have her removed from her position as Audhil. Before they could do so, she gave a speech to her church calling more openly for the removal of the king, and disappeared into the chaos she caused before her superiors could call for her arrest.
The rebellion she helped sparked soon consumed I-onülish, and the King lost control of it and its immediate surrounds. Zherla continued to appear within protests to urge them forward, assuring the people that the Divinities supported their actions. She became an unofficial leader of the movement, though she denied any efforts to make that official.
The I-onülish protests culminated in the year 29 Contact, with the King of Dätsalöl granting the city and the towns around it independence as the Republic of Kse Feorton. Zherla was eventually elected as a member of its inaugural Parliament, and pushed for the codification of laws which ensured the proper treatment of the poor and their rights to have their voices heard. Efforts were made to push her into the election for President, but despite the role being largely ceremonial, she refused to run and eventually retired from parliament after 6 years to return to the church.

After Parliament

Due to the country's new independence, it required new local leadership to communicate with the Diinöxingan in Ozäxa-Lavüdh, and Zherla was soon elected to this position. She insisted on involving the lower ranks of the church in all of her decisions, building on the principles that had brought her to that point.
She remained in this high position in the church for 31 years, resigning in the year 33 Return to become an Audhil once more. Her advancing age has made it difficult for her to serve her community as vigorously as she did during the rebellions, but she remains a popular figure whose advice is sought by many.

Independent Spirit

Despite often being called the Mother of Kse Feorton, Zherla had never considered independence as an end goal. Rather, her intention had been to bring balance and equality to the entirety of Dätsalöl, merely starting with its impoverished eastern cities. She still remains committed to this goal despite her old age, but has been unable to actively pursue it due to being forbidden from entering Dätsalöl by orders of its monarchs.
Despite this, her rebellion has inspired many a Raiser community, both in Dätsalöl and further abroad, to demand greater representation in the ruling of their countries. While some communities have had success, such as the Raisers in Pris Xüfonz, Dätsalöl remains firmly monarchical, and its east impoverished.
