Morelian Healer's Guild Outpost

Purpose / Function

The Morelian Healer's Guild Outpost theoretically provides a service to it's city, serving as both a high quality centralized locale for the best medical practitioners and casters of the city, and a certification and quality control office that tests and approves medical offices all across the region. In fact, it's actual purpose is to cater to the rich and the powerful, ensuring that they have quality medical care, ensure the wealth of the members by charging through the nose for basic services and licensing, and quash competition by refusing licensing and then shutting down any local alchemists or healers that refuse to play ball.   As such, Healer's Guildhalls are divided into three wings: The central lobby and medical wing, designed with luxurious examination rooms, premiere surgical suites, well stocked alchemical store rooms, and more elaborate ritual chambers for specialized magical works. The Administrative offices, for dealing with scheduling, payment, and other burecratic necessities. And of course, the enforcement wing. While this wing does in fact hold analysis and testing equipment for ensuring that medical practices are up to code, the actual purpose is to house the armed squads of knee-breakers that both provide security for the patrons and their wealth, and smash the shops of any who dare to operate outside of their authority.

Architecture

These buildings are designed to be immediately recognizable from a distance, boasting bright crimson walls with brass accents, covered in bright murals. The grounds are well kept and generally expansive, catering to the sense of opulence the rich and powerful crave and the interiors are no different. In the central wing, at least- upon entering the open lobby, they will be greeted by floors of pristine marble, elaborate fountains and sculptures of brass, and vast arched ceilings. The examination rooms are comfortable and welcoming, designed to put a wealthy merchant in mind of an expensive parlor or a noble's visiting area, and contain magically chilled bars stocked with fine liquors and delicacies. The administrative wings on the other hand are much the same as any well off bureaucrat's office. Well lit, lightly decorated without being distracting, and open; to allow for the steady bustle of administration. The enforcement wing however, bucks the trend of functionality and luxury. With entrances only to the rear of the structure, this wing is tight, cramped, and dark- sure to make any middle class healer feel as though they've walked straight into a thieves' warren.
